People Before Profit says the government needs to implement a plan to deliver social and affordable housing at scale
People Before Profit local representative Anne Condon has called on people to attend the national Raise the Roof demonstration in Dublin next Saturday, November 26, to send a clear message to the government that they need to tackle what the party says is the ever-growing housing and homelessness crisis.
She said: “I am calling on people in Tipperary to attend the Raise the Roof demonstration on November 26 in Dublin to send a clear and unambiguous message to the government that their housing policy has failed, and that they need to take on radical measures to end the chronic housing and homelessness crisis that has blighted this country.
“We have a housing minister who will not admit that we are in the midst of a dire housing crisis, so we need to get on the streets.
“We need to build a mass movement on housing in order to force the government to implement a ban on evictions; a plan to bring rents back to affordable levels, and deliver social and affordable housing at scale”, she added.
