At the request of Fr Tom Fogarty P.P., Pope Francis has awarded Stella Quinn, Littleton, with the Benemerenti Medal for her many years of dedicated service in all the parish churches.
She has been constantly on call for organ playing at weekend masses as well as funerals, first communions, confirmations and school celebrations.
Members of the parish choir, as well as her own family, were present at last Saturday's Mass in Littleton, where Fr Tom formally bestowed the medal.
He noted that she was always on call at short notice for whatever need arose and never refused a request for help.
We hope that the joy and happiness she has brought to countless church services may be returned to her in blessings over the coming years.
She received a huge standing round of applause from all present.
Family photographs were taken and will be forwarded to her sister Mary in Florida, USA.
