St Molleran's GAA Club's U13 camogie team were crowned Waterford Camogie County Champions after defeating Ballyduff Upper in the county final in Dungarvan on Sunday.
The girls had to fight to the very end to dig out this win. It's exactly what the late John Maher would have wanted to see.
The team have dedicated this victory to his memory.
St Molleran's Camogie Club is building towards fielding an adult team and this is a great stepping stone along the way.
The club congratulates the team and thanks everyone who supported this group of camogie players over the past year and thanks everybody supported the team in Dungarvan on Sunday.
The club would like to acknowledge that this game had to be rearranged three times through no fault of anybody.
“We'd like to thank the girls who had to postpone plans to be there and acknowledge some of the hard decisions made around conflicts with other sporting events,” a St Molleran's GAA Club spokeperson added.
St Molleran's GAA Club also congratulates the Carrick United AFC U14 girls team who have reached the last 16 of U14 Girls SFAI Cup by defeating Sea Rovers FC of Malin Head, Donegal in Donegal on Sunday morning. Friendships are shared across both squads of players.
The club's adult squads are looking forward to returning to their pre-season spell over the next few days.
Juvenile activity will soon recommence with U13 and U15 football first on the cards. It's envisaged the Underage Academy will return around mid-March. As always, the club welcomes new coaches to join in the fun and enjoyment that coaching brings.
