Pres Thurles Irish Debaters Orlaith Whitehead, Amelia Treacy and Pippa Quigley go through to the Regional Final of the Gael Linn debating competition
Comhghairdeas le Foireann Dhíospóireachta na Scoile Orlaith Whitehead (Captaen na Foirne), Amelia Treacy agus Pippa Quigley.
Our third-year students are now through to the Regional Final of Gael Linn Comórtas an Phiarsaigh Debating Competition.
The girls were praised by the moltóirí for their excellent standard of Gaeilge, as well as their wonderful delivery and teamwork as they debated, Tá an caighdeán maireachtála níos airde ag saol na cathrach ná mar atá ag saol na tuaithe.
The girls opposed the motion arguing that we have a higher standard of living in country life than in city life.
They fought off strong competition from Coláiste na Trionóide, Carrick-on-Shannon and Scoil na nUrsulach, Thurles and we now look forward to the Regional Final after Midterm Break.
Comhghairdeas libh a chailíní. Táimíd ana bhródúil asaibhse!
Huge ‘Míle Buíochas’ to their mentor, Ms Sinéad Lewis, for her tireless work and support.
