Progress in the league a source of satisfaction for Tipperary manager Liam Cahill

Welcome break before next match against Waterford in Thurles

Progress in the league a source of satisfaction for Tipperary manager Liam Cahill

“Like every team, we’re trying to keep our work up, and mix it with matches coming as well", says Liam Cahill

Manager Liam Cahill is satisfied with Tipperary’s progress after three rounds of the Allianz National Hurling League.

“I think we’ve used just short of 30 players throughout the three games, so I’m really happy with the panel and with the options that are coming through the three games we’ve played,” he stated after last Saturday’s win over Dublin at Croke Park.

“As the league comes towards its conclusion in the group stages, we’ll start to put structure on our squad from here on in”.

Tipperary have a break this weekend until their next game against Waterford at FBD Semple Stadium at 7.15 on Saturday evening, March 11.

“Like every team, we’re trying to keep our work up, and mix it with matches coming as well, so the break of two weeks will be very welcome,” he stated.

“It will allow a few little niggles, muscle injuries, to settle down, and we’re looking forward to another massive challenge in Thurles in two weeks time against Waterford.

“You will have two new managers with two new teams.

“Both teams, I suppose, are going to try and stamp their ground leading into the championship.

“Nobody knows when we meet in the championship whether we’ll both be vying for the Munster final or a top three position in Munster, so I think we’ll have to meet and acquit ourselves well and make sure that we are familiar with one one another before the real test, which will come in the championship towards the end of May (in Thurles on May 28)”.
