Max Wachman was on the Irish team that finished third at the Nations Cup in Florida

An Irish showjumping team that included Tipperary's Max Wachman finished third in the FEI Nations Cup in Wellington, Florida at the weekend.

Eleven teams including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Great Britain, Ireland, Mexico, the United States and Venezuela competed in the event, which was won by Canada, with Brazil second.

At the start of the second round Brazil, Canada and Ireland were tied on eight faults apiece.

An Irish squad that also included David Blake, Cian O’Connor and Shane Sweetnam eventually finished on an eight fault tally with Brazil.

Ireland had won the 2022 edition of the Nations Cup in Wellington.
