Hoarding in Clonmel has been repainted and varnished by South Tipperary Arts Group

The hoarding surrounded the former Kickham Army Barracks in Clonmel last summer

The repainting and varnishing by members of the South Tipperary Art Group (STAG) of all the hoarding that surrounded Kickham Barracks last summer is now complete.

Arrangements are being made to transport some to Cuan Saor women’s refuge and the rest to St Anthony’s unit, Glenconnor Road, where it will be attached to a low wall behind the unit, as a new garden is being planned there for the patients.

The designs for the long hoarding in front of the unit are now nearly complete, using scenes from Clonmel and the surrounding area on some of the panels, with very lively panels by STAG graffiti artist, Níall Gleeson, in between.

The junior art section resumes next Saturday, March 25 at 10.30 am. The seniors must have their art books in for collection by Paul Ryan from the library on that Saturday for the Library Project.
