Tipperary green school's committee take part in the Ireland Walking for Water event in Killarney

Tipperary green schools take part in the Ireland Walking for Water event in Killarney

Green School and GCE students

St Mary's Newport took part in the Green Schools Ireland Walking for Water Event in Killarney National Park.

They completed a 6km walk carrying six-litres of water, collected from the lake in Killarney in solidarity with children around the world who don't have easy access to clean water. They had talks from Irish Water and the Park Rangers, and built tippy taps (rudimentary devices that replicate running water)

In support of our Green School and GCE students who were completing the Walk for Water challenge in Killarney, closer to home, our TY GCE students completed a mini version of the challenge carrying over 3 litres of water for 3.3km around the local area. Well done to all involved!
