Terrific performance by Tipperary athletic in 'Not So Great' Ireland Run in Dublin

Evan Fitzgerald (Clonmel AC) put in a terrific performance in the "Great Ireland Run" in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, on Saturday last.

The controversy surrounding The Great Ireland Run which incorporated the National Championships in the Phoenix Park was not without local interest in Tipperary.

A marshalling error saw the athletes run 8.6Km of the intended 10Km distance, causing widespread disappointment among the huge 2,500 participants.


However, in the race over the shortened route, Clonmel A.C’s Evan Fitzgerald (left) had a terrific race, finishing in a highly meritorious fourth place overall and in third place in the National Championships.
