Wins for Dermot and Sharon at Carrick-on-Suir hosted Ballyneale 5K

Dermot Gorman, Carrick-on-Suir AC receiving his prize from Sean Owens, representing MSD (Merck, Sharp & Dohme), the race sponsors.

The MSD Ballyneale 5K Road Race, hosted by Carrick-on-Suir AC Road Runners, took place on Friday last. The event proved to be a great success and the organisers thank all those who played a part in making it the success that it was.


They include Outfield Sports, series sponsors; MSD (Merck Sharp & Dohme), race sponsors; John Murphy Photography; Fintan Walsh for race commentary and leading with the car; all the stewards and marshalls; all who helped with the timing, registration, results and refreshments.
Well done to all athletes and thanks to all for taking part in this event.

Men’s Race
The following were the winners in the men’s race:
1st Dermot Gorman, Carrick-on-Suir AC 16:05.
2nd Noel Murphy, Waterford AC 16:38.
3rd Damien Murphy Waterford AC 16:43.

Junior Male Winner: Emmanuel Andre, Dundrum AC 18:13.
Male o/40 Ciaran Carr, Newbridge AC 18:23.
Male o/45 Keith Fraher, Carrick-on-Suir AC 19:03.
Male o/50 Eugene O’Keeffe, Carrick-on-Suir AC 18:15.
Male o/55 Fintan Rice, Fethard AC 19:40.
1st Men’s Team: Carrick- on-Suir AC, Barry Drohan, Tim Treacy and Patrick Roche.


Ladies Race
The following were the winners in the ladies race:
1st Sharon Cleere, Thurles Crokes AC 18:19.
2nd Keely Tideswell, Clonmel AC 18:46.
3rd Louise Mahony, Ballyroan Abbeyleix and District AC 19:50.

Female o/35 Hillary Murphy, Waterford AC 30:13.
