Talented young Tipperary contestants put on a wonderful evening of entertainment

The Mullinahone girls who won the gold medal in the Under 13 Group Dance at the Community Games Talent County Finals held recently in St Michael’s Community Hall, Holycross .

St Michael’s Community Hall in Holycross played host to the Tipperary Community Games County Table Quiz and Talent County finals on Saturday, April 22.
The table quiz turned out to be a very close contest indeed with nothing separating Upperchurch and Cloughjordan after the 10 rounds of questions and Ballingarry in close pursuit in third place.
Upperchurch emerged victorious by the narrowest of margins after the tie break round.
Well done to all who took part on the day and congratulations to the Upperchurch team of Sarah O’Sullivan, John Quinlan, Orla Pamplin and Lara Shanahan who now progress to represent Tipperary at the national finals in Carlow in September.
Cloughjordan silver medalists were made up of Tarla Dorris, Ciaran Foote, Dylan Hussey and Arvo Ward with the Ballingarry team of Lucy Kennedy, Orla Boylan, Sarah Tye and Roisin Norton securing the bronze medals.

A WONDERFUL EVENING
Later we were treated to a wonderful evening of song, dance, music and recitation where children from across the county competed in the ‘Talent’ county finals.
Thanks to Holycross community Hall for use of their wonderful premises, to the Community Games volunteers working on the day and to the two judges Sarah Cleere and Katie Cleere who remarked on the many excellent solo and group performances of the children.
Gold medalists in each of the categories have now qualified to represent Tipperary at the National Community Games finals in Carlow in September.
