South Tipperary Art Group's annual exhibition will be held in Clonmel next month
The primary section - ages 9 years to 6th Class - in the South Tipperary Art Group, STAG, have all the backgrounds just about ready for their Stop Motion animation with their tutors Bobby and Patricia.
It’s a mammoth task, as there are so many young people in this section, but they will get a great buzz when they see their animation on their screens.
The seniors, First year to Leaving Certs, have now commenced their acrylic painting on canvas boards with tutor Maureen, as well as completing their landscape charcoal paintings with tutor Almas.
The seniors will be painting their own floral designs on panels of the hoarding at St Anthony’s Unit, Glenconnor, on evenings this week and next if the weather stays dry. They will be contacted by the Organiser Maureen Purcell regarding times.
The new mosaic that is being created by the 6th Class boys from Ss Peter and Paul’s Primary School with Junior STAG members will commence shortly.
Adult STAG - Congratulations to Tony Barry, whose detailed painting of ‘Summer at Sir Thomas’ Bridge, Clonmel’, sold this week from The Showgrounds Shopping Centre.
The STAG work team of Winnie, Bartley, Frances, Tony, Miriam, Noreen, Dolores and Maureen have been very busy painting local scenery on the grey hoarding panels at the new 60-bed St Anthony’s Unit in Glenconnor. As the hoarding around the building site obliterated the patients’ view of the mountains, STAG was asked to paint local scenes on the 200 feet-long hoarding, and of course the Organiser Maureen is not good at saying no!
There are just six weeks remaining until STAG's 55th annual Art Exhibition in Clonmel Library and adult members are requested to attend the weekly sessions.
