North Tipperary club make long trip south worthwhile to win under 15 Hurling Tournament

Silvermines GAA Club won the Mary Moroney Under 15 Hurling Tournament in Anner Park, Cloneen on Saturday last.

Mary Moroney Under 15 Hurling Tournament


The 10th Annual Mary Moroney Memorial Tournament was held in Anner Park Cloneen on Saturday last July 1.


In the first game Gortnahoe-Glengoole defeated St. Patrick's. This was followed by a Silvermines victory over Moycarkey-Borris.
In the Shield final Moycarkey-Borris defeated St. Patrick's.

In the cup final Silvermines defeated Gortnahoe-Glengoole and were presented with the cup by Eamon Toohey, a brother of the late Mary Moroney.

We thank all who helped in the running of the Tournament especially Referee Micheál McCormack who stood in for the injured Cloneen man Philly Keane. Thanks to all who helped with the catering.


Under 7 Hurling

During the interval between the first rounds and the finals of the Mary Moroney Tournament the St. Patricks played a mini game to show their skills.
Players in action were: Daragh & Cillian Smyth, Tadhg and Billy Horan, Sonny Mc Cormack , Darragh and Cillian Noonan, Conor Fahey, Larry and Bobby Slattery, Brian O’Neill, Matthew Grace, Andy Murphy, Oisin Denn, Bobby O’Brien, Charlie O’Dwyer, William Hennebry, Nathan Hackett, Fred Molloy.
Well done to all our under 7 players.
