JUNIORS GOLF
Best of luck to our Junior Golfers who are in the interclub Munster Final sixes competition in West Waterford on Tuesday July 18th. Best wishes to Our Junior captains as they hold their Prize Day on Saturday July 15.
Our Junior Golfers played a stroke play competition from the 150yrds. The winner was James Buckley on 39 strokes on C/B, in 2nd place Andrea Rangelov on 39 strokes. Our weekly competitions continue every Monday.
LADIES GOLF
Our Tuesday morning winner was Elizabeth Hayes. We held a Ladies 9-hole qualifier on Tuesday July 4th the winners were; in 1st place Elizabeth Hayes (38.9) 20 pts. 2nd Carmel Lowth (40.3) 18pts. Best Gross Judy Hayes (29.5) 7 gross points.
Results
The results of the Josie Alley medal competition was; in 1st place Pauline Fitzgerald (18.9) 44 pts. In 2nd place Frances Boyle (12.6) 41pts. Best Gross Sheena Ryan (14.5) 19 gross points. 4th Mary O’Donnell (36.5) 38pts. Many thanks to Josie Alley and Dundrum Nurseries for sponsoring this medal competition.
Thursday a washout
Our Thursday evening social golf was a wash out but we are holding a 9-hole qualifier on July 13th.
Mary McKenna Cup team
On Wednesday last our Mary McKenna team consisting of five pairings; 1st Margaret O’Connell & Jenny Lawrence, 2nd Liz Higgins & Patricia Moran, 3rd Pauline Walsh & Anne Blake, 4th Kathleen O’Neill & Flan McGlinchey. 5th Margaret Ryan & Lady Captain Jacinta Coman. They were out in East Cork in the Munster Semi Final, but were unfortunate were not successful on the day.
We are extremely proud of our team and panel and our managers Geraldine Ryan and Michelle Crowe.
Mens Golf
The result of the weekend Stroke play Competition; in 1st place Jimmy Heffernan (21) 69. In 2nd place Larry Shanahan (7) 69. Best Gross Declan O’Dwyer (3) 73.In 3rd place Shane Farrell (21) 70. In 4th place P J Maher (14) 70.
Our competitions next week; a 9-hole Strokeplay from Monday to Thursday. The open Singles on Friday and on Saturday and Sunday we have an 18-hole Stableford off the Blue Markers.
