Carole Nelson Trio Cormac O’Brien, Carole Nelson & Dominic Mullan with Eleanor Morrissey OPW. Pic Maria Taylor
The Carole Nelson Trio brought their beautiful jazz music to Cahir Social & Historical Society's ‘Summer Festival at the Castle’ on Sunday night last. One of Ireland's leading jazz ensembles, Carole on keyboard, Cormac on double bass and Dominic on drums mesmerised the audience with their performance. Carole had performed in the Great Hall before with Maria Walsh, a daughter of Cahir in the duo, ‘Zrazy’. The band performed to a full house and an appreciative and captivated audience and a wonderful evening was once again was enjoyed by all who attended.
Yet again we would like to express our gratitude to Tipperary County Council and Creative Ireland for the grant-aid they have given to our Festival. At an especially busy time of the year in Cahir Castle, the OPW staff have been so accommodating and pleasant to all of us which is something which we appreciate deeply.
The final event of our Festival will be held this Friday when Gemma Hayes will visit the Great Hall. This concert has been sold out for the last week so we are anticipating a great atmosphere on the night.
We are delighted that a local musician Cormac Looby will open the night's proceedings for us and we look forward to meeting everyone on the night.
