Ben Healy back in his school days with Glenstal Abbey when he captained the team to a famous win
Former Ireland Under-20 outhalf Ben Healy will get his first start for Scotland this weekend after the Tipperary native was named at number 10 for the Scots World Cup warm-up game against Italy.
Scotland boss Gregor Townsend has named the 24-year-old former Munster player as part of the team in a youthful side that is full of World Cup hopefuls.
Glasgow centre Stafford McDowall is also set to make his debut against the Azzurri so competition will be high for a place in the squad.
Healy, who qualifies for Scotland through his mother, switched allegiances from Ireland to Scotland and now finds himself on the verge of a place at the World Cup.
The Edinburgh number 10 made the switch earlier this year and will hope to impress and put forward his case for inclusion at the tournament in France this Autumn.
The Murrayfield game is the first of four warm-up matches for Ireland's pool rivals and, after the game at the weekend and a run out against France the following weekend, the 41-man provisional squad will be whittled down to 33.
