Fethard AC athletes John Needham, Billy Prout, Margaux Vanbelle, Carol Molloy, Paula Hendriksen and Louis Rice who competed at the 5k road race in Clogheen
Six Fethard AC athletes travelled to the scenic village of Clogheen, nestled under the majestic Knockmealdown mountains, on Thursday last for the Clogheen Life Pharmacy-sponsored Clogheen Community Council 5k Road Race.
The club’s first athlete home in sixth place was Louis Rice with a personal best time of 16.26.
Louis is going from strength to strength and is not afraid to knuckle down and put in the hard work in training.
Next in was John Needham in 19.31, with Paula Hendriksen rewarded with a personal best of 23.24.
Billy Prout finished in 23.54, while Carol Molloy also secured a new personal best of 25.03, with Margaux Vanbelle completing the trio of PBs for the Fethard AC women in 27.53.
Well done to the women in particular who are going from strength to strength under the guidance of coach Lorraine.
Thanks are extended to the Clogheen Community Council for a wonderful evening.
