The draw for the preliminary quarter-finals of this year's FBD Insurance Senior Hurling Championship has been made and they have thrown up some fascinating ties for fans to get excited about in the coming weeks.
Nenagh Éire Óg have been drawn to face off against Thurles Sarsfields in the preliminary quarter-final in what looks likely to be an absolute cracker. The game has been fixed for Borris-Ileigh on Saturday, September 9th at 5pm.
Elsewhere in the senior grade, Mullinahone will have to face into a preliminary quarter-final too, after being drawn to face West champions Clonoulty Rossmore on Sunday, September 10th at 4pm in Cashel.
In the Premier Intermediate grade, Mid champions Gortnahoe Glengoole will face the runner-up of Group 1 with that group yet to be finished as St Marys and Moyne Templetuohy have to play their round 3 clash next week. That game has been fixed for 2pm in Cashel on Sunday, September 10th as a curtain raiser to the Mullinahone clash with Clonoulty Rossmore.
Finally, the Intermediate draw was made and it sees Skeheenarinky draw the short straw as they will tackle the runner-up of Group 3 which will be one of Boherlahan Dualla, Moneygall, and Kilsheelan Kilcash.
The latter two's round 3 clash is fixed for next week having been postponed last weekend. The game is also down for decision on Sunday, September 10th at 3pm in either Clonmel or Boherlahan depending on who finishes second in Group 3.
The quarter-final draw proper will be made after the preliminaries are played so as to avoid repeat pairings from groups.
