Tipperary meat plant is named Supplier-of-the-Year to major international chain store

Tipperary based ABP Meats has won a top accolade at this year’s Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards 2023, taking home the highly coveted Supplier of the Year award.

Based in Cahir, ABP Meats supplies Aldi with a range of 100% Irish, Bord Bia Quality Assured Meats in 160 stores nationwide.

Together ABP Meats and ALDI took home 11 awards across the meat category, with six gold award wins for their Specially Selected Tipperary Dry Aged Black Angus Rib Eye Steak, Butchers Selection Beef Striploin Steak, Specially Selected Irish Black Angus Striploin Steak, Specially Selected Tipperary Dry Aged Black Angus Striploin Steak, 32 Day Matured Angus Fillet Barrell with Red Wine Jus and Specially Selected Irish Black Angus 40 Day Matured 3 Rib Roast.

This year’s awards were announced at a ceremony in Dublin. 

The Irish Quality Food and Drink Awards celebrate and reward the finest food and drink products on Irish shelves and is regarded as one of the most prestigious awards in Ireland.

Each product is subjected to a rigorous judging process and evaluated by an esteemed panel of judges made up of experts from across the food and drink industry.

Products are assessed on the basis of taste, provenance, value for money and innovation with only the best awarded the ultimate badge of excellence.
