Sacred Old Cow will be staged at The Coachman in Parnell Street, Clonmel at 7.30pm this Friday night
Clonmel is gearing up for an unforgettable evening of creativity and cultural celebration for Culture Night on this Friday.
Clonmel Theatre Guild, in collaboration with members of the Indian community, is proud to present Sacred Old Cow, an original comedy written by local artist Paul Sheehan. This unique play promises to be a highlight of Culture Night and will be staged at The Coachman in Parnell Street . Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30 start.
Sacred Old Cow is a hilarious comedy that tells the story of an out-of-work and down-in-love furniture removals guy who finds himself faced with a unique task – transporting a divine cow across the country in time for a wedding ceremony.
Little does he know that he has an unexpected stowaway – a young woman trying to escape an arranged marriage. The play takes audiences on a wild journey, complete with countryside chases, awkward meetings over cups of chai, and encounters with rather sinister characters who have their own plans for the holy heifer.
Themes of family, love, acceptance and self-realisation are at the heart of this unlikely adventure.
Created specifically for Culture Night, the performance brings together Irish and Indian actors for a truly unique experience. It will be performed as a rehearsed reading with the full support of Clonmel Theatre Guild.
