Brian Borus into County Senior Final

Borus edged out Moyle Rovers last Sunday in a battle for the last remaining county final spot. Fethard had beaten Galtee Rovers earlier in the day and Borus wanted to set up a mouth watering repeat of last year's epic final.

Conditions were very poor on the day and Borus played with the aid of a strong breeze in the first half and were much the better side in the opening encounters. Cliona O' Dwyer marshalled mid field and kicked 2 great points with Maureen Murphy chipping in with a third. Borus pressured hard on the Moyle Rovers kick out and this paid dividends when Aisling Ryan broke through and finished superbly  to the roof of the net. The half time score reflected Borus' dominance at 1.07 to 2points.

Borus started the second half strongly with our two wing backs Shauna Maher and Helena Walsh dominating early exchanges with Laura Morrissey in the centre holding firm. Sarah English pointed an excellent free and won the ball out on the side and ran through the Rovers defence to set up Helen Burke who finished coolly to the back of the Rovers net. Moyle Rovers fought to the end and were rewarded with a goal by Kirsty Crotty Ryan but Borus withstood the pressure and were comfortable winners on a score line of 2.9 to 1.6

Scorers on the day; Cliona O' Dwyer 3pts, Sarah English3f, Maureen Murphy 2pts, Aisling Ryan 1goal, Helen Burke 1goal and Isobelle O'Donnell 1pt.
