Dundrum AC’s Girls Under 14 relay team who won bronze medals at the County Juvenile Cross Country Relay Championships in Thurles
The County Juvenile Cross Country Relay Championships were held on Sunday last at Thurles Crokes grounds.
Dundrum AC had 15 teams in total competing. In the Girls Under 10 we had two teams, with our A team of Lucy Heffernan, Aimee Ryan, Shona Ryan and Emma Kelly winning the silver medals.
The B team of Olivia O’Brien, Carmel McHugh, Aoife Ryan and Ciara Hayes also did well.
In the Boys Under 10 our A team of Alexey Nesteruk, Harry Creedon, Philip Croke and Harry Julian also won the silver medals.
We had three more Boys Under 10 teams with Jack McGrath, Conor Tierney, Cathal Corley and Ruairi O’Neill making a team.
Darragh Comerford, Daithí Comerford, Robbie O’Neill and Jack Butler were on another team. Our final team in this age group was Sean Fitzgerald, Adam Breen, Karl McGlinchey and Rian O’Brien, who are all Under 9s.
In the Girls Under 12 we had a great performance from our A team of Lily Creedon, Ruth O’Neill, Ellen Maher and Katelyn Shanahan to win the gold medals. Our B team of Grace Butler, Bella Curling, Farran Ryan and Julie Morrissey, all Under 11s, had a super race to win the bronze medals.
Our other two teams in the Under 12 were Isobel Hartnett, Isla McHugh, Emma O’Brien and Claire Morrissey and our final team included Penny McGuire, Sarah Guilfoyle, Kayla Ryan and Leah Shanahan.
In the Boys Under 12 we had two teams. Our A team of Jesse Julian, Aaron Kelly, Sean O’Neill and Micheal Ryan were fourth and the B team of Thomas Tierney, Tom Kilmartin, Micheal Doherty and Harry Browne also did well.
In the Girls Under 14 our team of Belle Kelly, Elisse Kelly, Molly Butler and Emma Morrissey won the bronze medals. In the Boys Under 14 our team of Albert Maher, Niall Quirke, Rocco Julian and Micheal Farrell, all of whom are Under 13, won the silver medals.
In the Under 16 Mixed Relay our team of Donagh Guilfoyle, Odhran Ryan, Anna Butler and Ruby Maher were fifth.
Well done to all and it is now on to Cooraclare this weekend for the Munster Even Age Cross Country Championships.
