The Tipperary U16B panel had a great win over Kilkenny in last weekend’s rearranged All-Ireland Shield Final. In a tight game, Tipperary showed the most mettle to come out on top and secure the win on a very narrow score-line of 0-14 to 0-13.
Originally meant to be played back in September but was cancelled due to the tragic death of four young people in a car crash in Clonmel in the lead-up to the final.
David McSweeney of St Marys captained the side in the win in what was a nice touch as the young hurler's brother Luke, and sister Grace, were two of the four who passed away in the tragedy.
