Clonmel Celtic 0 – 1 Ballingarry Albion
The visitors took the points in this keenly contested top of the table clash at Celtic Park on Sunday morning.
The home side started the brighter and had the better of the opening half creating some good chances. They missed one great opportunity just before the break as the first half finished scoreless.
The visitors then began the second half on top, and unlike Celtic they took advantage of the period when they were in the ascendancy with Jack Pollard powerfully heading home Michael Ivors’ corner in the 64th minute.
They almost added a second moments afterwards, but the hosts managed to scramble the ball to safety. Celtic steadied themselves and finished strongly but couldn’t break down a strong Ballingarry rearguard as they held on for a crucial win.
SC & K United 5 – 1 Killenaule Rovers
After a number of recent defeats Kilsheelan returned to winning ways on Sunday afternoon when they hosted near neighbours Killenaule Rovers.
After a great start they found themselves two goals up within 15 minutes through Mark Heffernan and Cathal de Faoite.
Killenaule then pulled a goal back just on the half hour mark, but Billy O’Connor netted late on in the half to give the hosts a two-goal lead at the break.
Their dominance continued in the second period and Nathan Dolan fired home from distance midway through, before Jamie Roche finished off the scoring late on, to give the victors a comfortable five goal to one win, and crucially all three points.
