New early morning train from Thurles to Cork will make life easier for commuters!

Councillors have called for the train for months on end and now their appeals have been answered...

A new early morning train offers commuters real choice at last

There is finally a new train stop on the horizon which will bring much joy for daily commuters from Thurles to Cork. 

From December 10th, a new train stop will be added to ensure Thurles commuters can get to Cork in time for work or college each morning.

The new train will stop in Thurles as 7.07am meaning that those using the service will arrive in the city by 8.32am.

This will revolutionize travel for many people who currently use the car which is a highly expensive mode of transport due to petrol and diesel costs as well as the cost of a toll road daily.

Currently the earliest train from Thurles to Cork departs the Cathedral town at 9.14am so it isn't suitable for commuters to use.

While tourists and shoppers use this train, the new service will mean thousands of commuters who work in Cork City now have the option to get the train to work and help the environment while avoiding stressful driving on busy roads.
