Shelbourne Park will draw the crowds on Saturday night
Miami Prince was the fastest heat winner in the second round of the Dublin Cup A2/A3 525 at Shelbourne Park on Friday night.
Owned/trained by John Donohoe and Tom O’Donnell, this son of Droopys Sydney – Yahoo Doll remains unbeaten so far in the competition with an eye-catching display in the second round.
He had to dig deep to win as he wasn’t fast away from trap five with a new middle seeding applied. He took up the lead between the final two bends and went on to win by four lengths in a time of 28.63.
La Barbaro was the second fastest in the Dublin Cup for trainer Michael Corr with a decent 28.65 clocked. He also remains unbeaten now in this competition and showed terrific early pace on Friday night with a 2.08 sectional in what was a dominant display.
Gallant Queen produced back-to-back victories as well for trainer Ollie Bray and produced a career best too. This daughter of Pestana – Slippery Diva is bred in the purple with 28.69 recorded after a fast start. She made all from trap six with just four runners going to traps.
Other heat winners on the night include Edermine Rocky for Thomas and Patrick O’Gorman, Knockeen Dawn for Daniel O’Rahilly, Head in the window for Murt Leahy, Burgess Canon for Tipperary trainer Paraic Campion and Hello Rose for Andy Hogan
