West Tipperary national school welcomes new bike shelter and local TD to open it

Annacarty National School were delighted on Monday, February 12 to welcome Mattie McGrath TD, to officially unveil the bike shelter of which the children (above) pictured with Deputy McGrath

The Green School Committee in Annacarty National School have been working very hard to attain their ninth Green Flag for Global Awareness:Travel.

The committee secured a grant from An Taisce to build a bike shelter, encouraging the children to cycle to school and reduce the use of cars.

Annacarty National School were delighted on Monday, February 12 to welcome Mattie McGrath TD, to officially unveil the bike shelter of which the children (above) pictured with Deputy McGrath are now very proud.

The second picture shows (below) shows l-r Olivia Ryan (principal), Marguerite Gevrey, Maryann McHugh, Róisín O’Brien, Marian Anderson, Deputy Mattie McGrath and Maryann O’Neill.
