Fundraising bingo is flying it at Ballymacabry with another date fixed for March

Bingo – Another successful night!
Our latest Bingo night was another fantastic success. We are so thankful to the community for supporting this fundraiser with so much enthusiasm. Last Friday saw our largest attendance to date with the community centre hall packed to capacity.
Our next event is scheduled for Friday night, March 22 so make sure to mark it into your calendar!
As always all funds being raised by our bingo nights are going towards the development of the new playground in Ballymacarbry. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Playground donations
Donations for our local playground continue to come in weekly. We are hugely thankful to all those that have donated to date. We are in advanced discussions with a number of playground providers in relation to design and prices.
We’ll be working to deliver the best possible design, with the best quality finish for the best price possible. Keep an eye on these notes and our social media for regular updates on our progress!

Birthday parties
Here at the community centre we cater for many birthday parties and other celebrations throughout the year. We can facilitate all group sizes and requirements across our various rooms and halls.
Access to our astroturf facility for children’s birthday parties is always a huge hit. It is possible to book bouncy castles for the astroturf hall also. For any enquiries, just give us a call on the centre mobile (086 032 8467).

Community Employment Scheme positions
Ballymacarbry, Ballybacon & Newcastle & Community Employment Scheme have a number of positions currently available.
A caretaker role for Ballymacarbry Community Centre, GAA groundsman for Newcastle GAA club and a Tidy Towns worker for the Newcastle area.

‘Bricks for Kids’ Easter Lego Camp
We are seeking expressions of interest for another ‘Bricks for Kids’ Lego camp in the community centre. Following on from a number of very successful previous events there is an opportunity to host another camp, if the demand is there.

Weekly classes available to join
Spinning: Contact us at the centre on 086 032 8467 to be added to the spinning Watsapp group to be kept up to date with opportunities to book into classes. The classes take place each Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8pm.
Zumba: Taking place each Monday from 7 to 8pm. Contact Michelle on 087 239 3830 or via her Facebook ‘MG Active’ to book your slot each week.
Fitness: Our local fitness expert Stephanie Byrne continues to run her weekly fitness classes each Tuesday evening at 7pm and bright and early each Thursday morning from 6.30am. Contact Stephanie on 087 629 1955 if you would like to get involved in these ever-popular classes.
Badminton: Contact Siobhan on 086 8775670 if you would like to get involved each Tuesday night.

EDUCATIONAL COURSES
There are a range of great educational courses being run in the centre each week, currently covering cookery, fitness and phone technology. Waterford ETB offers a huge array of courses annually, so please visit the WWETB website and see if there is anything for you.
If there is sufficient demand the ETB are more than happy to run these courses from our community centre.

While our Astro Turf facility has a packed schedule of bookings each week, there are some available slots each week.
