Ursuline Secondary School, Thurles
Congratulations to the Minor A Hockey team who were crowned Munster Cup champions on Wednesday, February 28 after beating Mount Mercy in a thrilling battle.
Emma McDonnell was the scorer of the only goal of the match. Thanks to all the parents and supporters who travelled to Cork to cheer on this very dedicated team who played with such conviction throughout the game.
Thanks also to coach Ms Fahey for her hard work and training with the girls.
The Senior A Hockey team beat Mount Mercy on Thursday, February 29 after a 1-1 draw was forced to a shuttle decider.
Aoife Kavanagh’s goal kept the Ursuline in the running and third-year keeper Mari Louise Costello made three excellent shuttle saves to help her team win the shootout.
The next stop for the Senior As is a league semi-final.
The First Year Pink Hockey team beat Castletroy College 7-0 in the league last week.
The Green team also beat their counterparts from Castletroy 6-1. So a great effort by all the youngest Ursuline hockey players.
The Junior Cs won their final league game of the season on Friday, 1 March and the Junior As also had success in their final league game of 2023/24 thanks to goals from Lilly Kavanagh, who scored two and Katya Shorten who scored one.
They finished second in the table.
