The South Tipperary Art Group (STAG) work team has just completed painting all the boarded-up windows and doors in Market Place, Clonmel, with great compliments voiced by the huge numbers of people from the community that pass by each day.

It has been a slow task and taken the group nearly ten weeks to complete, as adverse weather conditions were not always suitable, although the group painted many days in the freezing cold.

The group has also just completed the mural for the Cherry Blossom ASD Unit in St Mary’s Boys School, Irishtown.
It will be handed over when the varnish is fully dry next week.

A special word of thanks is extended to Medite of Europe who donated the lifespan MDF board for this mural.

There are a few more projects in the pipeline, which will be announced shortly.

Artworks by Adult STAG members can be bought by contacting the Organiser Maureen Purcell at 086-8096823 at any stage and these artworks are hanging in Befani’s Restaurant, The Showgrounds, the Leisure Centre at Hotel Minella, The Outpatients’ Corridor at Tipperary University Hospital and in Slievenamon Golf Club.

Junior STAG is now fully booked for the five-week current session, which runs up to Easter. A waiting list is in operation for the session after Easter.

Contact the Organiser Maureen Purcell for membership of either the Primary Section (age 9 to Sixth Class) and Seniors (First Year to Leaving Certs).
