Tipperary man Thomas hit the jackpot as he seemed to find a good match on tonight's episode of RTÉ 2 show First Dates Ireland.
The Sales and Marketing manager from Thurles hit it off with accountant Alan from Shannon with the pair finding plenty in common during the date in Dublin.
The Clare man was the first to arrive through the door and admitted straight away that there is always a "fear of rejection" on any date but was hoping for " a bit of craic and said he had no type in particular.
In walked Thomas next to see who he had been matched with for the night and he highlighted in a cut scene his love for Tom Jones and Joe Dolan, and that the longest relationship he's had is with his pet dog Archie!
Alan broke the ice first and asked the Tipp man what he did for work and Thomas revealed that he is a Sales and Marketing manager with his family company in Thurles and it can be a "volatile" business and that he feels a lot of pressure to deliver or the money wouldn't flow in.
It turned out that they both had jobs related to food in some fashion, with the Shannon man telling Thomas that he works as an accountant in Kellogg's - Alan believing that he is an outlier as a typical accountant - which was the first of many things the two lads have in common.
When asked why he was currently single, Thomas revealed that he has been single for quite a while and he admitted in the preshow interview that he probably let "the one" get away.
"In the last year, I've been to hell and back personally," he said and told Alan that he has only recently started to get his confidence back.
The Thurles man went on to describe his childhood to Alan and highlighted that he learned love from his parents and he retold the story of his fear of coming out to his father.
"Dad took my coming out so well," he told his date.
"There's always that fear of rejection from your family," he said and continued by revealing that he is in a good place with his family ever since despite his apprehension at the time.
After some more small talk and getting to know one another, eventually, the ultimate question came after their date and there was no ambiguity between the pair as they both gave an instant reply of "yes" when asked whether they went on another date!
"He's a super sweet guy. He's cute. Everything was fab," Clare man Alan said afterward.
Tipp man Thomas said, "We weren't stuck for conversation anyway" as the pair disappeared down the elevator with high hopes for them to hit it off further down the line.
In the post-show credits, it was revealed that the pair met for a second date and that a tour of Thomas's family factory was next on the agenda!
