Students from the CBS at the garda training college in Templemore
Our TY students visited the Garda Training College in Templemore for a road safety workshop.
First up, we listened to survivors' stories where Barry and Grainne, two survivors from separate road collisions told their harrowing stories of how both their incidents changed their lives and their long roads to recovery.
This was followed by touching statements from parents who had lost their children to road collisions and their appeals to slow down, wear your seat belt, don’t be distracted by mobile phones and don’t drink and drive.
After lunch, we got to try out the RSA’s VR headsets and the Traffic Corps itinerary of speed guns, breathalisers and drug testing units.
