Limerick GAA thanks Tipperary medical staff for assistance after Casey horror injury

Limerick GAA yesterday issued an injury update about Peter Casey after his shocking injury in the latter stages of Limerick's second Munster Hurling Championship game against Tipperary in the TUS Gaelic Grounds yesterday, Sunday and lauded the Tipperary medical staff who assisted the stricken Limerick hurler.

Peter has suffered a broken ankle which will require surgery in the coming days, as stated by the official Limerick GAA committee. 

The statement read as follows: "In the latter stages of the Limerick Vs Tipperary Munster Senior Hurling Championship fixture yesterday, Peter Casey picked up an injury which forced him to leave the field. Following a scan we can confirm that Peter suffered a broken ankle which will require surgery in the coming days.

"Management team want to wish Peter all the best in his recovery and we will ensure that he receives the best possible care over the coming weeks and beyond as he begins, the journey to full recovery and resumption of his playing career.

"We would also like to thank our own Senior Hurling Medical team, the Tipperary Senior Hurling Medical team, the Stadium Medics, the Doctors and Staff at UHL for the care provided to Peter."
