Local Tipperary hiking group conquer Aran Islands ahead of charity fundraiser

The Roscrea Trail Blazers have been busy in recent weeks, with all the Aran Islands walked to date, and more islands to complete.

Last Sunday, June 2, 20 hikers from the group headed off to hike around Inishmaan, the lesser populated of the three Aran Islands.

The walk consisted of a 14-kilometre looped walk.

The group's next challenge is the Galty Challenge on Saturday, June 29.

Ahead of this, they will have their annual summer charity walk on Friday, June 21, consisting of a 7-kilometre hike around the village of Ballyboy.

This charity walk will be in aid of Parkinson’s Ireland.

The club wish to invite everyone for food, refreshments and dancing until late at Dan and Molly’s pub at Ballyboy.

Their indoor climbing continues every Monday night at University Limerick and is open to everyone.

If you wish to join the Trailblazers on any of their night walks or weekends away, contact Cathal on 086 3399 193.
