Incredible feat by Tipperary athlete after breaking national record at Munster Championships

Joe Burke of Templemore Athletics Club was the toast of Tipperary athletics last weekend, after breaking a 13-year-old record in the U17 200 metres race at the Munster U14-U19 Track & Field Championships for 2024.

Joe finished first in his heat in a time of 21:95 seconds which broke the previous record of 22:01. Joe went on to take the gold medal in the 200-metre final, which he added to the gold he won the previous day in the 10-metre final.
