To raise funds for Mary's Meals, Martin Bourke of Clonmore is undertaking a cycle around Mid and North Tipperary, commencing in Templemore on Wednesday, August 7.
He is being accompanied on the 250km journey by Maria D’arcy to raise funds for Mary's Meals, while John Egan is walking with Fr Eamon Kelly, Director of Mary's Meals and others from Thurles to Knock, arriving on August 15.
Other similar type walks are occurring all over Ireland to raise funds to feed and educate some of the world's starving children.
Currently Mary’s Meals feeds almost 2.5 million children in 17 different countries stretching from Syria right across Africa and also parts of central America.
The cost of feeding a child one meal a day in a place of education for one year is €22.
Of every euro donated, 96 cent reaches the front line.
All our volunteers cover their own expenses, so 100% of all donations are forwarded to Mary's Meals Ireland.
If you are interested in any way in helping out, please contact John Egan on 087-8158720 or any of the above committee members.
