The new rugby season is getting underway shortly with week 1 of Pre-Season already underway with the Munster Rugby men's squad returning to the HPC on Monday as preparations begin ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Those involved in international action over the summer have begun their respective off seasons and will join up with the rest of the squad in the coming weeks.

In player news, Munster Rugby confirmed that Garryowen centre Bryan Fitzgerald has joined the province on a three-month contract.

The 25-year-old produced a number of excellent displays last season including scoring tries in the Bank of Ireland Munster Senior Challenge Cup final and in the Division 1B playoff final as Garryowen were promoted to Division 1A for next season.

The Limerick man, who played his schools rugby with Crescent College Comprehensive and has two caps for Ireland Clubs, produced a standout performance for the AIL Select XV side who took on Munster A back in May, scoring two tries.

As part of Munster Rugby's recruitment and succession planning, AIL players are continually tracked and observed by Munster staff throughout the domestic season with Fitzgerald's performances throughout 2023/24 catching the eye.
