Retro 80s-themed disco night raises over €6,000 for Tipperary cancer charity

The County Tipperary Chamber of Commerce brought the community together for a night of nostalgia and goodwill, raising over €6,000 at their Charity 80s Night held at the Talbot Hotel, Clonmel.

The funds raised will benefit CARE, a commendable local organization dedicated to supporting those affected by cancer in South Tipperary and the surrounding areas.

The event recreated the electric atmosphere of the 1980s, complete with dancing, an authentic DJ set spinning classic 80s tracks, and a charity raffle.

The setting was enhanced by a vibrant 80s-themed balloon arch, generously sponsored by Balloonmania by J’s, setting the tone for a night to remember.

Support from local businesses was phenomenal, with The Cashel Palace Hotel, Tom Ryan Casey Photography and Video, The Abbey Court Hotel Nenagh, The Showgrounds Shopping Centre Clonmel, Value Centre Clonmel, and Great National Ballykisteen Golf Hotel contributing a variety of raffle prizes that helped in raising substantial funds.

Michelle Aylward, CEO of the County Tipperary Chamber, expressed her heartfelt thanks: "We are immensely grateful to everyone who participated and contributed to making this event a success. The generosity of our community not only highlights the spirit of giving but also strengthens our resolve to support those facing the challenges of cancer."
