Father of well known former Tipperary hurling referee sadly passed away earlier this week

There was great sadness around Boherlahan earlier this week at the passing of Dan Ryan, the father of former and well known Tipperary referee Johnny Ryan.

Dan passed away peacefully at home in his 91st year.

Dan, beloved brother of the late Fr. Martin, Philip, John, Sr. Mary, and Anna.

He is sadly missed by his loving wife Helen, sons Jimmy, Philly and Johnny, daughter Angela, brother Tom, sister Josephine Tobin, daughters-in-law Susan, Ann and Sinéad, grandchildren Sarah, Laura, Isabel, Daniel, David, Amelia, Maria, Ellie, Anna, Danielle, Kate, Emma, Rachel and James, brothers-in-law John and Sean, sisters-in-law Teresa and Jean, nephews, nieces, good friend Betty, relatives, neighbours carers and friends.

He was reposed at Devitt’s Funeral Home last Tuesday evening from 5.30pm to 7.30pm. While the requiem mass took place on Wednesday morning in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Boherlahan followed by his burial in Ardmayle. 

Many friends and acquaintances of Dan and the wider Ryan family expressed their sympathies in the condolences book online, some of which can be seen below.
