The four-year-old Beechwood ran out an impressive winner of the 12-furlong fillies and mares’ listed race for trainer Paddy Twomey at Galway last Monday week.
Owned by Glyn and Jane Davies and ridden by Billy Lee, the 5/1 chance led early in the straight.
From there Beechwood pulled away inside the final furlong to score by four and a quarter lengths from the Mark Prescott-trained 7/2 favourite Rouge Sellier.
It was an impressive display with connections thrilled with the win.
