Revamped Cashel Garda Station is now set to reopen 'before November'

There will be more Garda visibility on the street in Cashel from now on

Cashel Garda Station refurbishment on schedule for end of summer completion

Cashel Garda Station at Hogan Square, Cashel

Cashel Garda Station has been closed for a number of months due to an extensive refurbishment of the antique building but now a 'reopen date' looks set to be finally on the horizon.
It is expected that the station will be a training station so there will be a number of Gardai present day and night in the town which will be of huge relief to locals after a recent summer surge in crime across the Tipperary tourist hub.
Local politicians welcomed the news with Councillors and locals just 'over the moon' at the news.
In an online statement, Cashel based TD Martin Browne has highlighted the delays and says it will be finally open by November.
In a statement online the Sinn Fein public representative said: "following engagement between an Garda Siochanna and local elected reps we have been informed that the station is almost ready for reopening and will hopefully do so before November.
"There is a commitment given from the Gardai that the station will be maned 24 hours a day and open to the public 9-5 Monday to Friday.
"I had previously raised the concerns around staffing and hours with both the Minister for justice and the Gardai and am pleased to see both a commitment given regarding extended opening hours and staffing levels which will be welcome news to the people of Cashel and the surrounding areas."
