Former Tipperary senior and underage hurler Cian Darcy has been named on the Lory Meagher Team of the Year for 2024 after a fantastic championship season for his adopted county.

Kilruane MacDonaghs man Darcy has family connections with the Leinster county and threw his lot in with the senior team earlier this year, and he proved his worth with some terrific performances that has culminated in him winning this accolade.

Darcy's sharpshooting helped Longford to the Lory Meagher Cup final where they came up just short against Fermanagh in the decider in Croke Park back in June.

In total, Darcy registered a huge total of 3-67 in his six championship games, averaging over 12 points per game as he finished as the competition's top scorer.
