Fine Gael may be riding high in recent opinion polls but it would appear that all is not well within the Government party in Tipperary following the recent resignation of former Nenagh Town Councillor, Conor Delaney.
Mr Delaney, a solicitor based in Nenagh, confirmed that due to work, family and personal reasons he could no longer remain in a political party that did not look after its members.
He also cited lack of support and interest from party members in the Nenagh District as a major contributory factor to his decision to leave the party.
Mr Delaney, originally from County Wexford joined Young Fine Gael in UCC in 1995 and contested the local elections in Dublin in 2004. He later joined Fine Gael in Nenagh in 2006 before going on to win a seat on Nenagh Town Council in 2009.
He unsuccessfully ran for the Seanad in 2011 and Tipperary County Council in 2014.
