Phil Coulter.
Spanning 60 years, Phil Coulter has won multiple awards, been nominated for a Grammy, achieved incredible success at Eurovision, worked with other music greats like Elvis Presley and Luke Kelly and has had a chart entry in every decade since 1964 – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Each achievement on its own is impressive, but for the affable Derry man, it is his longevity and range of genres that he is most proud of.
“I don’t let the old man in”, explains Phil Coulter, quoting his hero Clint Eastwood on how, at 82, he’s keeping his pedal to the metal with a brand-new Autumn tour.
Commentators who thought that a sell-out run of shows celebrating his 80th year was a kind of grand finale certainly underestimated the man, his boundless energy and incredible staying power.
It turns out that there’s a legion of loyal Phil Coulter fans who can’t get enough of the affable Derryman. They wanted to hear more of his music, his classic songs and his everchanging store of music biz stories. And what a store that is.
In this brand-new show LEGACY, he takes a fresh look back into 60 years at the top of his game – so much music, so many songs, so many new stories, distilled into two hours of vintage gold.
Bringing their own special magic to The Source are his Special Guests George Hutton and Geraldine Branagan, all proven favourites with Phil’s fans. Quality from beginning to end.
All in all, a show not to be missed and wonderful to have such a musical legend right on our doorstep here in Tipperary.
If you would more information it is available online at www.thesourceartscentre.ie. The show is at 8.00 p.m on Thursday the 12th of December. Tickets are €39 + booking fees. There are limited tickets remaining for the concert so book today.
