Remarkable women to provide a feast of unforgettable music in Tipperary

isín Maher, Artistic Director of Finding A Voice

There is just over a month to go before the return of Finding A Voice in Clonmel this March with a feast of unforgettable music by remarkable women. Now in its eighth year, this unique festival celebrates exceptional music by women across eras and genres—classical, contemporary, jazz, and traditional.

The four-day festival offers an exciting lineup of top Irish and international performers in a programme of music spanning centuries and continents.

The eighth edition of Finding a Voice will take place from Thursday to Sunday of March 6-9, 2025 and will feature the return of festival favourites contemporary music supergroup Evlana, as well as renowned pianists Antonio Oyarzabal and Thérèse Fahy.
Highlights of this year’s festival include first-time appearances by Chamber Choir Ireland and the Irish Youth Choir, as well as a brand-new partnership between Finding a Voice and the National String Quartet Foundation that will see the Ora Quartet tour an exciting programme of music by women around the country.

As Artistic Director Róisín Maher puts it: “I’m very excited by this partnership with the National String Quartet Foundation which will see music by women composers touring to different venues and bringing the work of Finding a Voice to brand new audiences.”

Christopher Marwood added: “The National String Quartet Foundation is delighted to start a new partnership with Finding a Voice this spring, helping to uncover great music by women composers and to complement the work of the Festival by taking performances to venues nationwide.”
In addition to the Ora Quartet, the celebrated Solas Quartet will perform at the opening concert with a work by quartet member (and leader of the Irish Chamber Orchestra), Katherine Hunka, alongside a piano quintet by Austrian composer Maria Bach.

The festival will also highlight home-grown talent with the world premières of brand-new works by Ailís Ní Riain and the winner of the Emerging Composer Competition in association with the Contemporary Music Centre. Audiences can also look forward to a singer-songwriter showcase and performances featuring works by Irish composers throughout the festival
Finding a Voice is the only festival of its kind in Ireland and the British Isles and offers audiences a unique opportunity to hear unforgettable music by remarkable women in beautiful and historic locations in the scenic town of Clonmel. Finding a Voice runs from March 6-9, 2025 – see findingavoice.ie for further details.
