Fun run to take place in memory of Tipperary man who died in Spain last year

Funds raised will go to Aiséirí

Funds will be raised at a 5k run for Tipperary addiction service Aiséirí

A run in loving memory of Adam Walsh will take place in Clonmel on February 23

A 5k charity run will take place in Clonmel in memory of a young man who died in Spain last year.

The charity run will be held in memory of 24-year-old Adam Walsh who was from Tivoli Heights, Clonmel.

Funds raised will be donated to Aiséirí.

The event is being organised by his heartbroken family and they would like as many as possible to take part by walking, jogging or running on the day.

Those taking part are asked to meet at 10.30 on February Sunday 23 at the Gashouse Bridge car park on the Quay in Clonmel

His parents Alan and Audrey this week made a statement in advance of the walk-

"As Adam's family, we would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who kindly donated to the GoFundMe for Aiséirí for the walk / run this Sunday. This means a lot to us and this money will go to such good use.
There will be refreshments and food available in the hall at back of Gaelscoil secondary school. There will also be a coffee truck. Everyone who crosses the finish line will receive a free raffle ticket and we will do the draw at the end. We have been generously given a number of spot prizes. We will ask you to put your phone number on the back of the tickets and will call if you win prize. No cash on the day as there will be a QR code displayed for anyone who would like to donate.
Hope to see a good turnout and he looks down on us with some sunshine and is proud of what everyone is doing," they said.
