Deputy Noel Coonan has welcomed €1.2m in funding towards the construction of a new fire station in Templemore.

Deputy Coonan said this local project has been a long time coming with a lot of work being done over the years to secure the site and advance the project to this critical stage.

“I was glad to help in any way I could to secure the site for Templemore’s new fire etation. The extension and redevelopment of the station has been a priority issue for both the council staff and I, and a lot of work was done behind the scenes, in particular in relation to the purchase of the site. I want to compliment all those in the fire services division of Tipperary County Council, management and everyone involved in making this important development a reality,” said Deputy Coonan.

“An adjoining site has already been purchased and planning permission secured. This is the next vital stage and I will continue to push for completion of the project as soon as possible,” he said.
