Brilliant finals see titles claimed by Clonakenny, Loughmore Castleiney, Boherlahan and Moycarkey

Hi-Volt Ireland Group Mid U13 Group 4 Football Final

Boherlahan Dualla 4-16    Thurles Gaels 1-1

The U13 football finals commenced on May 5th with the match between Boherlahan Dualla and Thurles Gaels.  Boherlahan Dualla proved too strong for Thurles Gaels. 

The highlight of the match must go to Padraig O’Connor who scored not one but four 2-pointers during the game to earn him the Man of the Match award.  

Other great performances came from Boherlahan’s Kyle Horgan and Oran Crosse.  Thurles Gaels Donal Campion covered a lot of ground for Thurles Gaels and Tommy O’Reilly and Callum Gleeson providing the scores.

Clancy Construction Mid U13 Group 3 Football Final

Clonakenny 2-10    JK Brackens 2-09

This was much tighter match, but a lively and entertaining match was had between Clonakenny and JK Brackens. 

Thomas Franks played his part with three points from play, Paudie Treacy added a goal and with points from Sean Ryan and Man of the Match Charlie Murray Clonakenny went into the break with a four point lead. 

JK Brackens fought hard in the second half, but Clonakenny kept them at bay and coming away with a one point win.

Mid West Oil Mid U13 Group 2 Football Final

Loughmore Castliney 6-11   Gortnahoe Glengoole 4-08

Loughmore proved too strong in the end for Gortnahoe Glengoole in the Group 2 final. 

Goals were the order of the day for both clubs with Loughmore scoring six and Gortnahoe Glengoole getting four goals. 

A great spread of scoring across the teams showed great ability on both sides.  

Joint captains Milo McDonnell and Ollie Morris proved their worth with scores from both sides. Man of the Match Killian Cleary was tremendous behind the ball and a well-deserved award for him.

Hanafin Furniture & Floor Covering Mid U13 Group 1 Football Final

Moycarkey Borris 6-04   Durlas Og 6-03

Again, in the Group 1 final, goals proved the order of the day with both clubs scoring six each. 

Aidan Russell and Captain Tommy Rice scored 2 a piece, and with Captain and Man of the Match Tommy Rice adding two points to that he certainly proved his worth as both Man of the Match and Captain. 

The narrowest of victory in the end for Loughmore Castliney but Durlas Og fought back well in the second half scoring two goals with goalie Conal McBearty saving two tremendous efforts from Moycarkey Borris.
