The meeting will focus on a proposed rule amendment that would allow players to individually choose between wearing shorts or skorts.
If passed, the motion would permit each player to decide whether to wear a skirt, skort, divided skirt, or shorts, provided that all items are of the same colour and a similar design. Uniformity in team appearance would remain important, but identical garments would no longer be mandatory.
The number of delegates each county can send depends on its number of active camogie clubs. With 39 clubs, Tipperary qualifies to send a maximum of six delegates.
According to the guidelines, counties with up to 14 clubs may send two delegates, those with 15 to 30 clubs may send four, and counties with more than 31 clubs may send six.
In addition, two delegates from the Higher Education Camogie Council (Comhairle Chamógaíochta um Ard-Oideachas) and two from the international camogie community will also attend.
Scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., the Special Congress will consider the proposal put forward by Ard Chomhairle (the Camogie Association's central council). To pass, the motion requires a two-thirds majority from the voting delegates.
Should the amendment be approved, it will take effect starting Saturday, May 24th.
