These two sides have been among the most consistent performers in this year’s championship, and both will be eager to cap off their campaigns with silverware.

The sides have already crossed paths earlier in the competition, with Boherlahan edging out Moycarkey by three points, 3-18 to 3-15, in a high-scoring group encounter. That result helped Boherlahan top the group, while Moycarkey progressed in second place.

Since then, both teams have shown their mettle in the knockout stages. Moycarkey Borris were made to fight all the way in their quarter-final before eventually seeing off Newport Ballinahinch by 0-12 to 1-7. In the semi-final, some clever positional switches paid dividends, none more so than Eva Ralph’s move to full-forward, which yielded two crucial goals in a 3-12 to 0-18 victory over a strong Cahir outfit.

Boherlahan Dualla, meanwhile, have been in scintillating form, recording a comprehensive win over Toomevara in their quarter-final before producing an excellent display of point-scoring to overcome Borris-Ileigh by 0-25 to 0-9 in the semi-final.

Their accuracy and work rate have been hallmarks of their campaign so far, although they did waste some key goal-scoring chances in the semi-final.

The defensive trio of Sarah McLoughlin, Sarah Delaney and Paula Quirke will be central to Boherlahan’s challenge, while the energy and drive of Ellie Ryan and Clodagh Horgan going forward have been key features of their attacking play.

Youngster Abbie Horgan has impressed from placed balls, while Neasa and Doireann Ryan continue to build on the promise shown in Boherlahan’s recent underage successes.

Moycarkey Borris will once again look to leaders such as Sarah Corcoran, Kate Ralph and Joan O’Keeffe to drive them on, while the potential return of Amy Callanan, who made her comeback as a substitute in the semi-final after a serious injury, would be a major boost for Ray Ralph’s side.

Last year’s beaten finalists have learned valuable lessons from that experience and possess a potent forward line capable of punishing any lapse in concentration.

However, they have yet to reach their full potential this year and will need to produce their best performance to date if they are to win on Saturday.

Boherlahan Dualla may enter the final as slight favourites based on recent form, but Moycarkey’s resilience and attacking threat ensure that this decider is far from predictable.

With both sides hungry for glory, an absorbing and high-quality final is in store as the FBD Insurance Intermediate Championship reaches its climax.
